As far as metal is concerned you can always go for the same metal or mix oxidized silver with gold for an edgy style.
Mix and Match different lengths such as one stud and one long for fun asymmetry.
Match your earrings by theme such as geometric shapes, flowers, animals, space etc.
Play with color, for example mix and match a black earring with a white one or consider complementing colors, or contrasting colors.
Try to avoid mixing and matching earrings with different style for example a modern chunky earring won't match nicely with a lacy traditional one.
If you have multiple piercings, you can definitely wear a collection of small studs in each ear and a collection of long ones on the other or mix long & studs in the same ear!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
